1. PCBO Leeuwarden
PCBO Leeuwarden is a distinguished foundation managing multiple primary schools and Integrated Children’s Centres (IKCs) across Leeuwarden, Stiens, Wirdum, Grou, and Akkrum. Grounded in a Christian identity and the Frisian value of Mienskip—community, care, and cooperation—it provides the structural backbone for ISF. As ISF’s foundational partner, PCBO Leeuwarden embeds the school in local experience, support, and pedagogical excellence.
2. Sinne (Kinderopvang)
Sinne Kinderopvang has formally expressed its support for launching ISF, coming together with PCBO Leeuwarden and other regional partners to endorse the official application to the Ministry in September 2024. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to integrated education and early childhood development within the region.
3. NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences
NHL Stenden has reinforced ISF’s development through a signed declaration of intent in September 2024, underscoring its vital support in the school’s realization process. Through its ITEPS (International Teacher Education for Primary Schools) programme, NHL Stenden brings both educational expertise and future teacher talent to ISF, while enhancing Friesland’s attractiveness to international families and professionals.
4. Gemeente Leeuwarden (Municipality of Leeuwarden)
The Municipality of Leeuwarden plays a pivotal role in advocating for ISF. By participating in official declarations of support, local government demonstrates its commitment to expanding education access, fostering diversity, and enriching regional appeal for international families and institutions.
5. International School Groningen
As the only existing international primary education provider in the Northern Netherlands, the International School Groningen serves as an important regional counterpart. ISF fills a longstanding gap within Friesland, broadening access to international education for both provinces and supporting a more balanced educational network.
6. IPF
IPF represents Friesland’s regional innovation initiative, promoting cross-sector collaboration and cohesive economic development. ISF’s emergence aligns with Innovatiepact Fryslân’s goal to foster knowledge exchange, talent attraction, and international connectivity—key elements of a thriving, innovative region.
7. The International Welcome Center North (IWCN)
IWCN, along with regional municipalities, offers vital support for international integration in Friesland. Their endorsement strengthens ISF’s commitment to welcoming new families to the region, ensuring that education, local services, and community networks remain inclusive and accessible.
8. International Teacher Education for Primary Schools (ITEPS)
Part of NHL Stenden’s educational portfolio, ITEPS contributes directly to ISF by providing a pipeline of educator expertise. Through student internships and curriculum support, ITEPS helps shape ISF’s teaching culture, reinforcing its international curriculum and professional standards.
