Festive step forward: Ministry approval for International School Fryslân

Leeuwarden, January 28, 2025 – PCBO Leeuwarden e.o., Sinne childcare and the municipality of Leeuwarden are proud to announce that the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) has officially approved the establishment of the International School Fryslân (ISF). This approval marks an important milestone in the joint effort to realize international education in Fryslân.

The International School Fryslân will be a valuable addition to the regional educational offer and play a crucial role in strengthening Fryslân’s business climate. The school will offer international families access to high-quality educational and childcare facilities, further icreasing the attractiveness of the region for international talent and companies.

Working together for success

This initiative stems from close cooperation between educational institutions, companies and governments. PCBO Leeuwarden is using the coming months to ensure that all the organizational, substantive and financial conditions for a successful launch are met. The aim is to provide another update on progress in April 2025.

Abel Reitsma, Alderman for Economic Affairs of the Municipality of Leeuwarden, adds, “The International School Fryslân is more than a school. It is a project that contributes to the economic and international position of our region.”
