Leeuwarden, 5 September 2025 – The International School Fryslân (ISF) proudly announces the appointment of Anke Schumacher as its first Head of School. Anke was officially introduced during a stakeholder event on 4 September in Leeuwarden, marking an important milestone in the development of Friesland’s first international primary school.
ISF has already formed a small, dedicated founding team and is currently looking to expand with two experienced IB Primary Years Programme teachers to join the school in the coming months.
To further strengthen its presence, ISF will launch its brand-new website on 15 September 2025: www.internationalschool.frl. Parents will be able to find detailed information about the school, admissions, and the International Baccalaureate curriculum. From that date, families can also register online, schedule meetings with the Head of School, or book guided tours – both in person and virtually, for families who are still abroad.
In partnership with Sinne Childcare, ISF will host an Open Day on 3 October 2025 from 15:00 to 18:00 at the school’s location in Leeuwarden. Families are warmly invited to explore the school, meet the team, and discover how ISF combines international education with the warm and inclusive spirit of the Frisian community (Mienskip).
